Andrew Campbell
In a city as richly steeped in electronic music as Melbourne, Australia, it takes more than just playing records to make a name for yourself as a DJ.
If you want to become anyone down under, you'll need world-class musical taste, active involvement in the international community, and years invested on both sides of the decks in Melbourne's thriving underground dance music scene. For fans of big room party progressive and 'simply funky and fun' electro-house, few names are as recognizable as that of Andrew Campbell.
For me, its all about groovy as hell music that you swing your arms, tap your feet or dance like crazy to. Thats what I try to bring to my sets.
As a club DJ, Andrew has built a devoted following in his native Australia, both as one of the founding residents of Melbourne's legendary Interview parties, and as an international support DJ playing alongside the likes of John "00" Fleming, Andy Moor, Filo & Peri, Martin Roth, Kyau & Albert and Ronski Speed at some of Melbourne's biggest parties.Globally, Andrew's reputation has been built on the back of his web radio show, The Sounds of Downunder.
In addition to showcasing Andrew's unique style of driving-yet-melodic underground progressive house to the world, The Sounds of Downunder has featured exclusive sets from some of the biggest names in the industry, including Gabriel & Dresden, Markus Schulz, Perry O'Neil, Guy Ornadel, Andrew Bennett, Jose Amnesia, Bobina, Airbase and Harry Lemon.
What is Interview to me?
Interview to me is a great clubbing environment, where all different types of people, from various walks of life all come together to celebrate and enjoy something they all have in common - A great taste in electronic music.
Interview has been able to successfully promote a trusted brand of party, which has stayed clear of bullshit scene politics which so typically occurs.
