Faeorin
Faeorin is the collective word for faeries, the little people, the sidhe. Those magical beings of the forests, streams, mountains and glades. Their music entrances and spirits away the unwary. They surround us. You can hear them laughing when the wind blows...
They met and fell madly in love in Mexico in 2006 and in 2008 created their project Faeorin to encompass both their firm belief in the magical and the surreal, and their love of music in all its multifaceted brilliance.
Faeorin is the coming together of the two ends of the earth. Javier Ponce Alvarez (aka Chwen) is a Mexican DJ and sound engineer who is well known for magical, mind-blowing psytrance and progressive sets. His partner, Jess Stafford has grown up playing a swath of different instruments and reveling in jazz, rock, folk, blues, pop, world music and any other strange acoustic sounds that tickle her fancy. They met and fell madly in love in Mexico in 2006 and in 2008 created their project Faeorin to encompass both their firm belief in the magical and the surreal, and their love of music in all its multifaceted brilliance.
Since their live debut at Ostara Festival in September 2008, Faeorin have had fantastic support from the Australian electronic music scene with bookings for Ostara’s Sa Ta Nama I and II, Spiral Harmonics Festival, Renaissance Festival, Mutagen’s Diaspora II and Interview’s Color of Sound just to name a few.
They have an upcoming release on the Uxmal Records Mexico compilation "Mexican Progressions 2" which will be released in July/August 2009 and are currently working on several remixes to be released later on in the year.
Faeorin is a jazz-inspired hybrid progressive act.
It's cinematic and spiritual, dreamy and mystical and definitely psychedelic.
It is their gift to all who care to listen...
